Border Patrol Stops 116 African Nationals from Crossing Border

The world seems to know that the U.S. has a vulnerable border with Mexico. This includes 116 Africans who were caught by U.S. Border Patrol in the Del Rio Sectors. These immigrants came from Cameroon, Congo, and Angola.

This group was seen on video trying to swim across the Rio Grande River to enter the U.S.

“This large group from Africa further demonstrates the complexity and severity of the border security and humanitarian crisis at our Southwest border,” said Chief Raul Ortiz.

Agents apprehended the group after the crossed into the U.S. around 10:30 p.m.

This is the first large group from Africa that agents have apprehended. So far this year Border Patrol was able to apprehend 182 groups of people that had more than 100 individuals each.

The White House Twitter posted about the crossing saying, “Last night, U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 100 illegal aliens from Congo, Angola, and Cameroon near the U.S.–Mexico border. Our southern border is now a magnet for illegal immigration from all over the world. It’s time for Democrats to help close the loopholes!”
