The California Senate is moving forward to keep President Trump off their primary ballot in 2020 until he releases his tax returns. The state Senate approved bill 27-10, it requires candidates on the presidential primary ballot to release up two five years worth of tax returns. All the GOP state senators voted against the bill. President Trump has refused to release tax returns claiming he is under audit.
In 2017 a similar bill was passed in 2017 but got veoted by the Governor at the time Jerry Brown. It is unknown is Gov. Gavin Newsom will even sign or see the bill if it ever reaches him. New Jersey and Washington are also pushing for similar measures.
