Kristy Higgs, a teacher, has been fired for standing against pro-LGBT material at her child’s school which is run by the Church of England. When she went online to complain that the school she teaches, and where her child attends was teaching “relationship education” compulsory. She stated that one book the school used was about a boy who wanted to wear dresses, to which she responded with ,”Which means, for example, that children will be taught that all relationships are equally valid and ‘normal,’ so that same-sex marriage is exactly the same as traditional marriage, and that gender is a matter of choice, not biology, so that it’s up to them what sex they are.” Higgs was afraid that fundamental Christian beliefs would become outlawed and freedom of faith will become a thing of the past.
When Kristy Higgs created an online petition the fight against the new sex education material, an anonymous complaint was sent to the school where she worked for six years. The anonymous complainant accused her of posting “homophobic, and prejudiced” view.
After Higgs was sent to a disciplinary panel, the school found her “guilty” of “gross misconduct” because she could have “hurt the school’s reputation.”
When really according to toe Kristy Higgs, it was because she wouldn’t back down on her faith.
