Two Florida teens decided to play hook when they found themselves in a situation deeper than they can handle.
Heather Brown and Tyler Smith are students at Christ Church Academy who’ve known each other since the fourth grade. They decided to go swimming when they realized they might not make it back to shore as they had been battling wave after wave for hours.
That’s when they decided to cry out for help. Tyler told FOX 30 , “I cried out: ‘If you really do have a plan for us, like, come on. Just bring something.”
The irony is that a boat named “Amen” was the one who came and found them. And it came just in time because Tyler was beginning to cramp, and was holding onto Heather for support.
The boat’s captain Eric Wagner told FOX30, “Over all the wind, waves, and engines, we thought we heard a desperate scream. Exhausted and near the end, the boy told me he called out for God’s help. Then we showed up.”
“I told them the name of the vessel, that’s when they started to cry,” Wagner said. “The young couple was gracious and grateful to us and to God. It was the latter all along.”
Tyler and Heather both plan on serving in the military as well.
