Kentucky BBQ Joint Accused of Being ANTI-LGBT.

Kentucky barbecue joint, Belle’s Smoking BBQ, is facing some backlash after some of their merchandise has been considered to be anti-LGBTQ (anti-gay)

Belle’s Smoking BBQ is a food truck based out of Williamstown, KY. They debuted their new t-shirts on social media which had the slogan: “I support LGBTQ – Liberty, Guns, Bible, Trump, BBQ.”

Jamie Smith, Belle’s Smoking BBQ, mentioned that he had already sold around 100 shirts before putting it up on facebook. He also said, “I posted the shirt for new swag, and it just went out of hand, and it got blown up.”

As soon as the posting for the shirts came up and after it went viral social media commenters were quick to post negative comments. Many commenters called the misappropriation of the LGBT slogan,” slogan bigoted and harmful.”

Belle’s Smoking BBQ let out a statement saying, “Belle’s Smoking BBQ apologizes if we have offended any groups, organizations or individuals with our shirts”…..”We respect all beliefs and lifestyles and want no ill will towards anyone. We know each person has their thoughts and beliefs, but we are hurt that the people who are saying, ‘stop the hate’ are the ones coming at us with the harassing messages and threatening phone calls. Again we apologize for any hurt feelings and thank our supporters who genuinely know us.”
