Prayer to Satan Delivered At Government Meeting in Alaska Despite Protest

At a government meeting in Alaska, a member of the Satanic Temple delivered the invocation ending with a “Hail Satan.”

Iris Fontana delivered the invocation asking listeners to enjoy eating on the fruit of knowledge and said, “Let us demand that humans be judged for their actions.” She ended her prayer with, “That which will not bend, must break. And that which can be destroyed by truth should never be spared its demise. It is done. Hail Satan.”

Despite protests and people walking out, Fontana was allowed to deliver the invocation because in October the state’s Superior Court ruled that anyone of any religion may deliver the opening prayer because of Alaska’s constitutional establishment clause.
