The U.S. military created a “knife missile” that will help eliminate accidental harming and killing of civilians.
This “knife missle” or “ninja bomb”, officially called the R9X, is a modified Hellfire air-to-ground missile. The R9X utilizes six blades that deploy on impact rather than explosives. This results in the terrorist getting sliced to death while limiting the harm of civilians.
According to a source, “To the targeted person, it is as if a speeding anvil fell from the sky.”
Another nickname for the “bomb” is the “flying Ginsu” because it can slice through metal, glass, and concrete, just like the infamous 1980’s infomercial for the knife that claims to slice through anything.
The R9X has been in development since 2011 and a version of the R9X was in consideration to take out Osama bin Laden.
It has already been used almost half-dozen times by the Central Intelligence Agency and the Department of Defense. Only two strikes have been publicly confirmed.
One was towards al-Qaeda second-in-command Ahmad Hasan Abu Khaye al-Masri. One clue that gave away the fact that there was a large hole in the roof of al-Masri’s car but there was also no evidence of explosions.
