“Survivor’s guilt, it’s real,” 31-year-old Marine veteran Micah Herndon told The Washington Post. “I definitely have it because I was the lead machine-gunner on that convoy and I didn’t see that bomb that was buried. I live with that every day.”
Micah Herndon became a viral sensation after a video of him crawling to the finish line to complete the Boston Marathon surfaced. The 31-year-old was suffering from severe leg cramps.
After he survived the first IED, a third strike launched him from his vehicle. After being in a war zone and now back to the suburbs trying to normalize has been hard. But Herndon has been able to find solace in running.
