Minnesota Bans Pledge of Allegiance?

Patriots of St. Louis Park, Minnesota showed up to their City Hall screaming “USA” while also reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. The hostility was in response to the city council’s decision to stop reciting the pledge of allegiance before the meetings.

The City Hall’s reasoning behind the banning of the pledge seems to be in an attempt to bring more diversity and try not to offend newcomers. According to councilman Tim Brausen, “We concluded that in order to create a more welcoming environment to a diverse community, we’re going to forgo saying the Pledge of Allegiance before every meeting.”

“Given the current Washington politics that are going on now, there’s a lot of people that are afraid of our government, and we worry about that,” Brausen continued.

It seems the citizens of Minnesota are not the only ones who are upset over the anti-pledge rule as President Trump also found out and tweeted about it.

“Outrage is growing in the Great State of Minnesota where our Patriots are now having to fight for the right to say the Pledge of Allegiance.. I will be fighting with you!” he tweeted.
